About

THE BASICS:

I was born and raised in the fabulous “Apple Pie Americana” Midwest town of Indianapolis.  As a Hoosier (Go Colts), I am a HUGE sports fan.  I attended USC (Go Trojans) and lived in NYC for over a decade until late 2008, when I moved back to the LA sunshine.  I have boundless energy for developing businesses, which, to me, is the ultimate sport.

THE DETAILS:

I am a startup executive currently working inside my 5th Venture Capital- backed technology company, and I have advised and consulted dozens more.  My new gig is as Sales & Vendor Lead at “stealthy” Santa-Monica based Betterworks (will be posting on this soon!).  Prior to BW, I served as Vice President of Business Development at LA-based Docstoc.com, one of the fastest growing small business sites on the Web.  Before Docstoc, I held operations, strategy, and business development roles at several NYC-based tech ventures.  I began my career as an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

I have a degree in Business, with a dual emphasis of entrepreneurship and finance.  Other than building businesses, I am passionate about sports/fitness, music, fashion, travel and outdoor adventure. As a hobby, I teach an empowering, affirmations-based fitness class called Intensati, as well as a high-energy spin class at YAS Fitness Center in Venice. I currently live blocks from the beach in Santa Monica with my newly rescued Black Lab puppy – Joanie (named after Joan Jett of course!)

QUOTES I DIG:

“Strap on your seatbelt if you’re signing up for a startup. It’s a high velocity experience. ”  Tim Ferriss

“It’s amazing how many cares one loses when one decides not to be something, but to be someone” Coco Chanel

“I love Rock n Roll” Joan Jett
